Methodology Version Register

The single source of truth for every publicly released BCI Lab methodology document — one place where every version number, and every “which document currently governs which fact” question, has one unambiguous answer.

This register is the single source of truth mapping every publicly released BCI Lab methodology document to its version number, status, effective date, and relationship to every other document in the corpus. No defined term, threshold, or formula element should be independently redefined, with a different value, in more than one place. Where a document needs to state a version history, a threshold, or a formula, it references this register rather than restating the history itself.

This register does not merge documents or change their editorial independence. The White Paper and BSIP continue to be written, reviewed, and published on their own schedules, for different readers. What this register fixes is a single place where every version number and every “which document currently governs which fact” question has one unambiguous answer.

Scope. This register covers externally published documents only: the White Paper, BSIP (and its predecessor names), the Independence & Conflict Policy, and the Public Protocol Annex — including the retired “Institutional Methodology Disclosure” name under which parts of this lineage were previously published. Internal working documents — Core Definitions and its amendments, the Sector-Specific Calibration Governance Protocol, the M&A Backtest Registry, and the Action-series working papers — are not in scope. They continue to version independently, under their own file-based numbering, for internal use.

Release Date
April 2026
Supersedes
Institutional Methodology Disclosure v1.1
Approval Reference
“BSIP v3.0”
Notes
Published roughly one month after Row 4, under a separate document title, before the two naming conventions were consolidated. Its own change log states it aligned to draft “BSIP v3.0” concepts, including the Decision Binding Interface and the SIR/BDV/t½/BDI framework — the same content later found to require correction at BSIP v4.0 §0 and §4. Both BSIP v4.0 open items trace to this update. Retired document name; no later version was published under this title.

Notes
A version label used in report footers, page metadata, and Row 5's update to describe protocol concepts under active development — including the Decision Binding Interface and the confidence-band DRG mechanism. No complete, governance-approved text under this version number was ever produced. Retained here as a formal record so the label is not mistaken for a missing document, and so it is not backfilled retroactively.

BSIP
Version 4.0
Current — This Release
Release Date
August 20, 2026
Supersedes
BSIP v2.0; formally closes the “v3.0” gap (Row 6)
Approval Reference
Amanda Zhang, Founding Partner
Notes
Retires the Decision Binding Interface (§0) and the Confidence-Band/DRG-Tier mechanism (§2, §9.6); consolidates all prior DRG systems into a single DRG-A/B/C/D standard; adds §9 (Known Limitations and Calibration Status). Released alongside White Paper v4.0.

Notes
Earlier versions are implied by the version progression to v3.0 below but are not independently documented in materials available at the time this register was first compiled. Left as an explicit gap rather than an estimated one, consistent with this project's evidentiary standard.

Notes
Released alongside BSIP v4.0. Shares core variable definitions and the master formula with BSIP. Version numbers are synchronized for this release only and are not expected to remain in lockstep going forward — see the BSIP v4.0 Version Note.
Notes on This Register

Gaps are marked, not filled. Rows 1–3's exact release dates and the White Paper's v1.0/v2.0 dates (Row 8) are not reconstructed here. They should be filled in from BCI Lab's internal records before this register is treated as complete, rather than estimated for the sake of a tidy table — the same standard this project applies to every other unverifiable historical claim.

Rows 5 and 6, Read Together

The Institutional Methodology Disclosure v2.0 update (Row 5) is the one place in the record where the Decision Binding Interface and the confidence-band DRG mechanism are both traceable to a single event: an April 2026 update that explicitly aligned itself to draft “BSIP v3.0” content that was never itself finalized or formally approved. This is not two unrelated bugs found separately — it is one update whose source material didn’t clear governance before being built on.

“BSIP” is the sole active name going forward. Effective with v4.0, “Institutional Methodology Disclosure” is retired as an active document title. Both of its archived versions (Rows 1 and 5) are preserved here for historical reference only and are not authoritative for current operations. Any page, report footer, or piece of metadata still citing “BSIP v3.0” or “Institutional Methodology Disclosure” should be updated to cite BSIP v4.0.

This register is updated at every future version change to either document. It is the authoritative cross-reference and should be consulted before restating version history in a report, footer, or page metadata, rather than each surface maintaining its own copy of that history.

Scope — Covers externally published methodology documents only. Internal working files (Core Definitions and its amendments, Sector Calibration Governance, the M&A Backtest Registry, Action-series working papers) version independently and are out of scope.
Authority — Where this register and any individual document's own version-history text disagree, this register governs, consistent with BSIP v4.0 §10 (Version Authority).
