BCI Lexicon

The canonical index of every defined term used across BCI Lab's structural diagnostics. Each term below has its own fixed address and its own definition — sourced without exception from BSIP v4.0 and the White Paper v4.0, not restated independently here.

Terms indexed: 14 With registry cases: 3 Definition only: 5 Canonical sources: BSIP v4.0 · White Paper v4.0

This page replaces two earlier, independently-drafted documents (an internal “Lexicon” and a separate “Glossary”) that had each accumulated their own definitions, proxies, and taxonomies not fully reconciled with BSIP or the White Paper. Rather than merge those two documents, every term here was rebuilt from verified canonical text only. Anything that could not be traced to BSIP v4.0, the White Paper v4.0, or a verified registry case — including a five-category asset-quadrant taxonomy with unvalidated numeric thresholds — was not carried forward.

Core Variables
Meaning Tension MT
Meaning Tension (MT) measures the degree to which a brand can command price for symbolic meaning, rather than for material cost.
Perceptual Legibility PL
Perceptual Legibility (PL) measures how easily a brand's value proposition can be read, understood, and replicated by the broader market.
Time Structure TS
Time Structure (TS) measures an asset's resistance to value decay over time — whether a premium compounds or dissipates.
Energy State ES
Energy State (ES) measures whether a structural system is growing through internal nourishment or being sustained through external capital extraction.
Data & Rating Standards
Data Reliability Grade DRG
The Data Reliability Grade (DRG) framework grades every input to a BCI reading by its evidentiary reliability — disclosed alongside the reading it supports, and never silently averaged away.
Structural Rating Tiers R1 / R3 / R5
R1, R3, and R5 are BCI's three public classification bands for structural integrity, on a 0.0–10.0 composite scale, with two internal-only transitional monitoring bands between them.
Structural Patterns
The Legibility Trap
The structural state in which, once distribution density crosses a critical threshold, the cognitive barrier to understanding a brand collapses — and the scarcity that depended on that barrier collapses with it.
has registry cases
Structural Sovereignty
The positive-state condition in which symbolic density, time structure, and distribution discipline are all simultaneously healthy.
has registry cases
PE Extraction Spiral
The path by which capital, over a holding period, systematically converts Meaning Tension into cash through distribution expansion — leaving a structural shell behind at exit.
has registry cases
Sovereignty Dilution
The process by which over-pursuing energy extraction lowers the threshold for Perceptual Legibility, causing an irreversible loss of Meaning Tension.
definition only
Structural Leakage
The hidden erosion of Meaning Tension caused by governance drift or strategic incoherence — typically visible as revenue growth occurring alongside a simultaneous decline in pricing power.
definition only
Silent Sovereign Equilibrium
A steady state of extremely high Meaning Tension combined with a deliberately maintained low Perceptual Legibility — achieved by forgoing mass exposure in order to preserve pricing power.
definition only
Design Encryption
The practice of embedding a brand's identifying marks into the structure of the product itself, rather than relying on surface-level branding.
definition only
Cognitive Friction
The intellectual cost required to decode a symbolic system. Moderate friction protects a premium; excessive friction creates market inefficiency.

Definitional Authority — This index does not create new definitions. Every term is sourced from BSIP v4.0 or the White Paper v4.0; where those documents are revised, this index and its term pages are updated to match, not the reverse.
Rating Limitation — Nothing on this page or any linked term page constitutes a credit rating, valuation opinion, or investment instruction of any kind.
